Job Description:

Applicant must be time served on a CNC Lathe and have had machining centre background, ideally in a sub-contract environment. The CNC Control is Mazatrol PC Fusion 640MT; the applicant (ideally) would have experience of this control or similar.

 

The Integrex 50YB is the smallest of our Integrex fleet of machines having a bed length of 1500mm and maximum turning diameter of 450mm. It has a 100 tool auto tool changer and programmable SMW work steadies. High pressure coolant through the tool can deliver up to 70 bar pressure which is ideal for the many gun drilling operations carried out on this machine.

 

Programs are written offline by full time programming staff; however, the operator would be expected to MDI small programs for skimming steady bands, or boring out soft jaws etc.

 

Programs and routings are given to the operator and it his/her responsibility to load the program, setup the machine and all the tooling designated in the program, including jaws, steadies, boring bars, milling tools/cutters and other associated equipment. Perform block by block line by line prove out of the program in accordance with routing and quality plan instructions. When the operation is complete it is the operator’s responsibility to carry out inspection both in process of the prove out function and at completion of the operation before submission to inspection.

 

The operator may need to edit and optimise the program and to observe and correct any errors in the program and report to supervision if too complex (rare).

 

The operator would need to be well versed in ISO (metric units) and Imperial (English) measurement as both disciplines are commonplace.  Technical drawings again are in both disciplines. The operator would also need to be well versed in all types of measuring instruments, micrometers, verniers, dial test indicators, bore comparators and be able to set and measure with these instruments.
 

Our Client machine many types of threads, of both parallel and taper variants with many differing thread forms, any operator must be able to both machine and gauge these elements. All measuring equipment is both supplied and calibrated by the company.

 

The work is varied in complexity; types of materials machined are wide and varied, from aluminium to Inconel 718 & 625, Duplex & Super Duplex Stainless Steels and many other high alloy materials.

 

The shift patterns are permanent on day shift or night shift.

 

The work is challenging and varied, large batch quantities are rare, low batch sizes are common.

 

Safety shoes, safety glasses and overalls are provided and it is mandatory from a HSE policy to use all PPE provided.

 

Induction and control training (if required) will be given.
