Job Description:

Our client based in Haywood are a manufacturer of complex machinery which is sold world wide into the packaging and substrate coating industries.

The ideal candidate we are looking for would be an Electrical & Software Project Engineer to work primarily in a factory environment but also at our customer sites worldwide on retrofits. A substantial working out bonus will be paid for retrofit work undertaken on customer sites.

The successful candidate would be expected to design, program & manage large LV control panels / systems which typically cost over £100K in materials per machine.

Candidates without all the essential requirements would be considered if they are sufficiently strong in other areas to compensate.

 

Key functions of this position include but are not restricted to:

 

1                      Project management of all aspects of machine electrical & software design

2                      Ability to design and draw electrical circuits (to relevant British, European & American regulations) and select components and cables taking into account all circuit and environmental conditions

3                      Advancement/refinement of existing software platforms/controls systems

4                      Adherence to internal and regulatory electrical system and standards.

5                      Liaison with customers (internal & external) and suppliers.

6                      Development of electrical drawings from new sheet through to red line updates of electrical drawings.
 

Acquired knowledge or Qualifications

Essential:

·          Computer Literate in Microsoft Applications

·          Experienced in the design & construction of electrical circuits and control panels

·          Knowledge of the relevant British & European Regulations

·          Experience in the programming and commissioning of PLC systems

·          Experience in the programming and commissioning of SCADA and/or HMI systems

·          Experience in the programming and commissioning of AC asynchronous & / or servo drive systems.

·          Commissioning of machinery on site.

Desirable:

·          AutoCAD (R14 onward) experience

·          Promis-e – Electrical Drafting Package.

·          RSWire – Electrical Drafting Package.

·          BS7671:2001 IEE Wiring Regulations.

·          Experience of BOM’s systems.

·          Siemens Step 7 PLC programming.

·          Siemens WinCC SCADA programming.

·          CoDeSys (TwinCAT) programming

·          Delphi programming

·          Programming AC & DC drive systems.

·          FieldBus applications.

·          Appreciation of pneumatic, hydraulic, machine controls & other mechanical systems.

·          Graduate or HND qualified

·          Knowledge of relevant American Regulations

·          Process/Vacuum system experience.

Adjustment:

Availability and unhindered capability for worldwide travel

Although the normal place of work will be in the company design office, there will be a requirement on some projects and retrofit work for travel.

 
Benefits:

40 hour week – core hours 08:30-17:00 30 mins for lunch.  Start time is flexible 07:30-09:00

33 days holiday pro rata – extra day after 5 yrs additional day after 10 yrs.
