Our client is a leading manufacturer of ready meals for the catering and retail industries. Due to an increase in their business levels they require an expereinced hands on supervisor.
Reporting to the Shift Manager, the post holder will be responsible for continuously overseeing the efficient running of the departments and managing the teams.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Organise the team to ensure that the production plan is delivered on a daily basis
- Provide all daily information on production efficiency, non-conformance and waste
- Ensure new starters are welcomed to the team and trained on job instructions
- Audit all daily checks and ensure they are being carried out
- Ensure all operating procedures are being adhered to
- Ensure all waste is minimised
- Maintain high housekeeping standards for the area of responsibility
- Liaise with other departments where necessary to ensure that the business needs and priorities are met.
- Consider and implement solutions to problems as and when they arise
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Must have an excellent attendance record
- Must be flexible with hours of work (i.e. early starts / late finishes)
- Ability to organise both yourself and others
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the Operations Team
- Ability to solve problems
- Production awareness
- Experience of following and amending production plans would be an advantage but not essential
- Previous experience of leading a team
DESIRABLE
· Previous food manufacturing experience
· NVQ in Food Manufacturing
· Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
· Working Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Health & Safety
