Job Description

Process Planner & QA Technician

Reporting to          :        Production Services Manager

Job Objective

To prepare the companies Production schedules, assuring all stage dates are met by liaising with all departments to ensure customer delivery expectations. Assist with materials planning, ensuring that material is appraised and kitted to meet job specifications and production dates within budget and to meet business needs. To be able to audit all the companies systems, including Quality, Environmental and Health and safety Systems to maintain accredited external standards.

 Duties

 1.                 The preparation of the weekly Company production schedules ensuring the timely issue of all  information by the most effective means.

2.                 The administration of the Companies production schedule, including new job entry, rescheduling existing jobs, amendments and labour updates.

3.                 Produce capacity forecasts in terms of labour and future labour requirements to the Production management team.

4.                 The appraisals of all products work prior to manufacture and requisition of special parts.

5.                 Raising requisitions for stock and special materials to enable the purchase of the material to ensure stock levels are maintained, material arrives on time, on budget and to the required specification.

6.                 To kit special material requirements and stock materials to enable the MRP system to operate effectively.

7.                 To raise Production packs for issue to the production department, ensuring deadlines are met, including all QA documentation.

8.                 To liaise with the Materials/Purchasing manager on any stock discrepancies and carry stock discrepancy and quality investigations when required.

9.                 To be able to back flush materials using the MRP system.

10.            To assist with stock control.

11.            Audit the companies systems, notably the ISO9001 system, conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions with the Technical Manager.

12.            Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.

13.            Provide statistical evaluations and management reports

14.            Maintain vendor appraisal database.

15.            Ensuring that any working practices comply with current health and safety guidelines.

 

Personal Specification.

 

Skills & Abilities

 

·         To be able to order and present information, write reports and provide recommendations within the job scope

·         Be competent to intermediate level of MS Excel and to have experience of MS Projects.

·         Have good IT skills: MS Office Suite, and a knowledge of MRP principles

·         The ability to be able to understand engineering drawings and to be able to interpret information.

·         To evaluate customer requirements to enable effective scheduling & materials planning

·         In house auditing of procedures and systems.

·         Understanding the relationship of material availability, cost and demand.

 

Experience

 

·         Practical experience within engineering or the construction industry.

·         Materials management background.

Qualifications

 ·         Qualified to HNC/HND in a directly relevant engineering discipline or degree in a related discipline with relevant experience
