HOURS 5 days over 7 which will include some weekends and Bank Holidays ABOUT Our Client Our Client in Yorkshire is one of England’s finest 18thcentury country houses, with a magnificent collection of fine and decorative arts. It is still the home of the Earl and Countess and attracts over 200,000 visitors each year.
As an educational charitable trust, our clientd’s key objectives are: § To preserve for the benefit of the public the House, Gardens and Collections § To promote the study and appreciation of the arts and sciences § To provide facilities for recreation. Alongside the care, conservation and interpretation of the core collection, our clientd runs a series of innovative exhibitions of contemporary as well as historic art. Its cultural and educational activities are supported by a range of commercial events both in the House and in the Grounds, including weddings and corporate events.
JOB SUMMARY To provide administrative and ancillary support to the House & Collections Department.
KEY TASKS · Maintain diaries for senior members of the Department. · Organise meetings and events, taking minutes when necessary. · Respond to correspondence. · Deal with telephone and email enquiries as appropriate.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To include: · Assisting all members of the team in fulfilling their curatorial responsibilities. · Assisting all members of the team with the practicalities of operating the house as a visitor experience. · Assisting with the practicalities of Our Client as a commercial hospitality venue liaising closely with members of the our clientd Hospitality & Events team. · Providing practical support for day-to-day House activities including talks, workshops and guided tours for groups and day visitors, working across Departments as necessary and assisting with any practical preparation, such as setting up for lectures, demonstrations, workshops and Hospitality events. · Responding to general enquiries including requests for filming; image reproduction; provide access to material in storage and on display for visitors; supervise such access as required. · Administering the house archives.
RESPONSIBILITIES WITHIN THIS POST · Fielding enquiries and telephone calls, taking accurate messages, passing them on and liaising with colleagues, partners and stake-holders when other team members are not available. · Adhering to current Collections Policies and Health & Safety Policies. · Carrying out ad hoc duties as requested by appropriate managers within our clientd.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF ALL STAFF · Take an active part in communicating and cooperating with other staff and departments. · Follow guidelines, procedures and policies provided by the company in relation to financial management and personnel records. · Work within our client's Equal Opportunities Policy. · Be responsible for reading the Employee Safety Handbook and following all Health & Safety rules and regulations.
