Staff changes at The Works

Autumn saw some key staff developments here at The Works.

Joining us as newly titled "Head of People and Talent" is Joanne "Jo" Shires. Jo has a solid background in HR roles in engineering and manufacturing. She has worked for market leaders like Hallmark Cards, Carillion and Sulzer Pumps and latterly enjoyed a recruitment HR role leading on AWR.

Jo will be here to recruit, develop and retain the really great people we have at The Works and ensure we serve our clients to the best of our abilities. Brian Gee “Company Accountant”. Brian has also come from a solid manufacturing background and will bring the much needed skills to the finance team for forecast reporting. Brian aims to look after the pennies and we all know that if that's done correctly, the pounds look after themselves. Brian has extensive IT systems experience and lives in Elland. He has two sons and is a keen sportsman.

Lindsey Gray “Social Media Editor” Lins has been working in the background for a little while now and she has joined the team on a part-time basis. Lindsey started her career in Leeds at Jacob Kramer College of Art and Design (when it used to be on Cookridge Street) and went on to study TV Production. She worked on The Chart Show and a ton of other programmes on the telly before changing direction and turning her attentions to all things digital. She runs parenting website www.twinsclub.co.uk and is also Editor of www.alantitchmarsh.com.

Kevan Watson “Head of Communications (consultant)” Kevan designed the first “Works” brochure in 1991…. A consummate PR professional who’s clients include SHARP electronics, Meadowhall the list is endless. Kevan started his PR Career with The Graham Poulter Partnership in Leeds and then as a self employed PR Director since 1990. Kevan lives in Leeds and will head up the communications strategy within The Works, and will also be co-ordinating the messages for NED Connections.
